Hello:

This is a nice overview of common pets that kids like. Although I’m not a fan of snakes and tarantulas, I’m glad you included them, as there is more out there than the standard, and highly popular, cat and dog. The website has a great design and flow to it. I like the template. Good job!

Very interesting article! I’ve got to admit the love of pets is definitely heartfelt around the globe. But when you brought up arachnids and insects, that threw me for a loop. Completely unexpected. As I am deathly afraid of spiders. Anything that can see ? 8 different directions and can jump? No thank you. Anyway good article on Good Pets For Kids – The Best Pet For a Kid.

hello Dr.Alkhawaldeh! nice article as always! I have an interest in this myself although I am not a kid, I have been wanting to get a pet for a while. I had a turtle when I was younger and enjoyed him a lot but later started to feel guilty because I snatched him from the whiled. So I gave him back to mother nature. I have some experience with bunnies and agree they can be quite simple and enjoyable to have as pets too.

but I know I want a pet I have never had before I always thought I would look into getting a dog and still want one. I’m thinking of a german shepherd. I’m really glad I found your article however because a Parrot could be just as fun!

thanks a lot for the tips. I look forward to your next article!

My check-off list would be yes, yes, nope, nope, no snakes or bugs or lizards. Haha right now I have a kitten and she is amazing! I got her so we can grow up together 🙂 Just getting, I’m going into my senior years and wanted a kitten so she can grow old with me 🙂

My son has a dog and he is so cute and he is elderly. I always provided my children with a pet of their choice to take care of. And yes, they did take care of them and if they didn’t after repeatedly telling them so, we either gave them to family or if I had to take care of them, they belonged to me.

Rest assured my kids always took care of their pets. We even had iguanas, lizards, birds, and racing pigeons raised guinea hins and chickens oh and yes, goldfish for the kids and Oscars and bigger fish for the husband and also, turkeys!

Yes, we had a little farm out in the country and it was wonderful! Great article with lots of useful information.

Thank you,

Hi Mohammad, great post, with some surprising choices as kids pets.

I can’t imagine me ever wanting to keep a spider, A pet hate you might say:)

I have had a few of these pets though when I was a kid, cats, dogs, rabbits, fish, budgies.

I draw the line at snakes and spiders though, see, it’s those spiders again.

Thanks for this interesting post, and you have given some good ideas for people on what pet to get for their kids.
Thanks,
Frank

I thought that this article would talk about dogs and cats, but you surprised me here 😉 snakes, lizards, and spiders … 😉 But I agree that there are many harmless snakes that can be safe pets. I like snakes (the harmless ones, the ones with no poison 😉 ) How attached do snakes get though? Do they get attached to humans at all?
Spiders can be interesting pets. I like tarantulas. They live in my area and I prefer to watch them free in their habitat 😉 They are interesting and beautiful creatures.
It is true that kids get excited and will help take care of their new pet at first, but the reality is that after a while, parents end up caring for the animal. When getting a new furry (or scaly or feathery) family member, parents should be aware of that.
