However, you must provide fresh food for your dog from time to time, mainly because this is a way to strengthen the dog’s immunity and reduce the chances of diseases. Don’t worry; preparing fresh food doesn’t require a lot of effort.

5. Ground Turkey, Rice, And Veggies

  • 200 g of brown rice (1 1/2 cups brown rice)

  • 65 g frozen or canned peas (1/2 cup)

4. Beef With Rice

  • 1 ½ cup of uncooked rice (white or brown rice)
  • 4 cups of water
  • 1 ½ cups chopped butternut squash
  • 4 cups (2 ½) pounds ground beef
  • 1 cup cooked beans Or (1 can kidney beans, drained and rinsed)
  • 1 ½ cups diced carrots
  • ½ cup frozen peas

Start by stirring the ingredient with water in a slow cooker. Then cover and cook on low heat for a few hours (5-6 hours) or use high heat for around 2-3 hours. Stir as needed, then let it cool to room temperature.

3. Meat Cake

This is an easy and delicious recipe and very rich in protein. Depending on the meat you choose. To prepare your meat cake, you will need these ingredients:

  • Ground Beef 1-lb Pkg
  • 1 1/2 cups brown rice
  • 8 eggs
  • Salt (1 dash)
  • 4 large grated carrots
  • 2 large chopped celery stalks
  • 2 large grated potatoes
  • 3 cups of water
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1 1/2 cups regular rolled oats

Start by preheating your oven to 400°F. then grease around 36 of muffin tins cups (three large muffin tins). Then, in a medium saucepan, combine both water and rice and bring it to a boil over heat uncovered and cook it for 10 minutes. 

After that, reduce the heat to the lowest and cover it simmer for 20 minutes. Let it cool for several minutes after removing it from heat to fluff it with a fork and set it aside.

Now, use a large bowl to combine the eggs, ground beef, celery, potatoes, and carrots. Mix them together using your bare hands or a big sturdy spoon. Add a little bit of salt, olive oil, rice, and rolled oats and then mix it well.

Now the last step is to begin filling each muffin cup with some of the mixtures and pat them down to make it as firm as possible. Bake the mixture for 45 minutes. Let it cool for 10 minutes or longer, and then you can serve your dog this meat cake!

Note that you can keep it in a fridge or simply freeze it in sealed plastic bags.

2. Peanut Butter And Bacon 

Anything made with peanut butter and bacon should taste yummy! So here is what you need:

  • 250g (1 cup) peanut butter
  • 1 egg (large) or 2 small eggs
  • 180 ml milk (nonfat)
  • 30g oats
  • 250g (2 cups) whole wheat flour
  • 1 Tbsp of baking powder
  • Chopped & cooked bacon strips (with bacon fat (optional)).

Begin by preheating the oven to 350°F. Then, Line two large baking sheets with parchment paper (or silicone baking mats). Set aside.

After that, in a large bowl, start gently mixing the milk, eggs, and peanut butter. (remember to use a wooden spoon or rubber spatula). The next step would be adding the flour and baking powder.

Now, you need to turn the dough into a floured surface and use your hands to work in the flour, then mix in the bacon and oats. When done, you will notice the dough is heavy and thick.

After that, you must prepare the dough for baking by using a floured rolling pin and cut into shapes using a cookie cutter or by only using a knife. Begin to arrange on the baking sheets and then leave it to bake for 20 minutes or until it is browned on the bottom.

Now, remove from the oven and flip these treats to bake it from the other side for 10-15 minutes. Before serving it to your pup, allow cooling entirely. Also, it is a great recipe that will enable you to store the leftovers at room temperature up to 7 days or in your fridge for 14 days.

1. Banana & Peanut Butter Ice Cream

  • A quarter of fat-free Greek yogurt
  • 2 bananas
  • 1 cup natural peanut butter
